Our Vision |
|
Mission: To maintain the quality of development while securing the comprehensive role of women in all the area of development. To encourage the collective efforts in the process of women’s development so that they may make their recognition in the society by expressing their problems collectively and bring about changes in life.
Fundamental principles: JMSS functions considering some fundamental principles, which are preserved in each stage of implementation: This program is neither brief nor time bound on the contrary it is a on going process which is based on existing knowledge and priority of women. Women ensure every activity in village themselves. It enables deprived women for planning, decision making, and evaluation. Programme functionaries and officials are facilitative and not directive.
Strategy: Work is executed according to existing knowledge, experience and skill of women. This programme functions for the upliftment of marginalized women of schedule caste, schedule tribe and minority. It works for the personal development of women as well as it teaches about many essential things of their life. Capacity is built in them so that they can execute and monitor all the ongoing programme. It prepares strategy to equalize the difference between men and women.
Process: The most important aspect of JMSS is its process which goes through following steps:- Reflective: resulting in better and appropriate understanding. Dynamic thought: tasks performed understandably. Convergence: better linkage with like-minded persons, government and private departments so that expansion of women group should be possible with the locality and among themselves.
Dissemination of information: It will spread transparency and awareness among the JMSS activist and also help in maintaining strong documentation. In accordance of process a lot of time is spent with the women so that problems related to them and complicated issues can be rooted out. To bring forward listed issues and positive thinking in women, they are provided with capacity of decision-making, information and knowledge.
Prior to Mahila Samakhya Activities: Women were engaged in their household activities. They were unknown to the ongoing activities in the society and village. They were unorganized. There was lack of awareness among the women. There was lack of self-confidence and women had no personal identity. They believed that their problem is only because of their fortune. Women did not know the proper use of money. Parents did not know the significance of female education.
After Mahila Samakhya Activities: Self-confidence grew in women. Women developed their recognition at block and district level. Girls and women became aware of education and female literacy rate increased. Now women are organized. They are conscious about violence against women in the society as well as they are solving the issues. Capacity in decision making has increased. Women are using their savings to start business. They are being aware of and associated with other government programmes. Women have become health conscious. Groups are under the process of getting federate. 25% of women read “Epil” magazine. Their contribution in decision making is around 80%. Female illiteracy rate has decreased through Jagjagi Kendra. Women are working in association with local governance and police. |
